Welcome Adria Light, Program Manager The head librarian at the college
I attended had a distinctive last name: Pine-Coffin. It was noteworthy
because his style was a bit wooden as he stood ramrod straight at check- out
hushing us as we headed off to class. It never failed to bring a
smile. Funny how names—those with a literal meaning-- can reflect a
demeanor. So it is with Adria Light.
Anyone who has met her has seen her glow from ten feet out and for those of
you who have not yet made her acquaintance, you will soon see. With Barb Ferrera moving into the
role of Development Manager we looked for the right person to fill the
Program Manager position. We are a small team working to deliver a big
mission. It seems so important that we make the right decision. When we learned Adria was
interested in working at Gilda’s Club, let’s just say that we were
beaming too. In her new position, Adria will be coordinating our
wonderful volunteer staff people—150 strong—as well as working closely with
Erin McAllister on all the details around offering 1100 activities a year at
our Linwood Clubhouse. For us, it is the perfect scenario
because it closely resembles an internal promotion. Adria has been
program volunteer since we opened in 2002, offering workshops and sharing her
knowledge of Reiki, Attactor Field Therapy and Biofeedback.
For the past 12 years she has been the Director of the Healing Center and
Volunteer Coordinator at Jewish Family Services of Atlantic and Cape May
Counties. Adria also has a private practice helping people prepare for
surgery and other wellness concerns. We are all delighted to have Adria
on board. Erin cannot wait to have another set of eyes, ears, arms
