Welcome Lauren Crenshaw, Gilda’s Club South Jersey’s new
Development Director. We are delighted to introduce her as an integral
part of the team working to keep our red door open, ensuring that our program
thrives at no charge to our more than 1200 members.
A native of Margate and daughter of David and Nancy
Schultz, Lauren graduated with a BA in Communications from the University of
Maryland in College Park. Following college she started her career in
philanthropy at the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Over the course of
the next seven years Lauren moved up the ranks of that organization from
Campaign Associate to Director of Women’s Philanthropy to Director of Young
Leadership Division and Campaign Resources. Today Lauren lives in
Atlantic City with her husband, Victor. The couple is so newlywed that
they haven’t yet taken their honeymoon!
Lauren is a member of that rare group who enjoys
raising money perhaps because fundraising is both a science and an art.
The science, like any research, involves precise record keeping. GCSJ uses a
powerful software program called Next Step and with Development Manager
Barbara Ferrera’s exacting assistance, we should be able to excel. The
artistic side of the formula concerns matching individual interest with a
relevant need something that Gilda’s Club South Jersey has in buckets. Lauren’s
eye for precision blends very well with her warm personal style. She is
the whole package!
We are fortunate to have someone with Lauren’s
experience help steer our development plan. Together with our Board of
Directors we are redoubling our efforts to make the case for support of this
worthy organization. In the near term she will get to know the members
of the board, the members of the Red Door Society, help out at some of our
summer events and be part of the team that makes sure we have the resources
to meet our mission.
Please stop in and welcome her.
--Sarah Griffith, CEO
