Gilda's Club South Jersey is Moving

The Shore Memorial Health System is helping Gilda's Club South Jersey by offering a wing of its former Ocean Point Health Care Center on Bay Avenue in Somers Point to continue its program of education, social and emotional support to individuals and families living with cancer.

“We're happy to be able to help Gilda's Club South Jersey continue its work in the community,” Shore Memorial Health System President and CEO Albert L. Gutierrez said in a statement. “We know first hand the good this organization does to support cancer patients, their families and many, many others in the region.”

Gilda's Club will move into the front wing of Ocean Point Health Care Center in early April 2008 for a one-year period. The new clubhouse space will be spruced up during the month of March, including everything from fresh paint to the addition of phone lines, a computer system and new signage. The nearly 800 members of Gilda's Club South Jersey and its broader community of supporters and friends will be invited in to help with the move, offer much needed financial support and check out the new space.

"We are very grateful to Shore Memorial for making this property avaialble to us. Their generosity has come at an important time. In the next year, with the $500,000 pledge from Wawa nearly complete, we will be in a position to raise the additional dollars we need to buy our own permanent home," said Golda's Club South Jersey CEO, Sarah Griffith.
